I was inspired by the retro vibes of Stranger Things when I created this illustration of a bee-girl lounging on a cozy, vintage armchair, totally caught up in a phone call with her friends. She’s rocking a striped dress, a cardigan, and a cute headband—giving off the perfect 80s aesthetic. The cord of the phone is twisting in her fingers as she chats away, completely in her own world. But then—bees.

They’re buzzing all around her, and one even lands right on her nose! You can see the exact moment she realizes what’s happening—her eyes go wide, and she freezes, mid-sentence, totally panicked about getting stung. The whole scene is this mix of nostalgia, humor, and just a little bit of chaos. I wanted to capture that classic, everyday moment but with a fun, unexpected twist.
