VINTAGEBOOKWEEK2022

At first, joining Vintage Book Week 2022 felt overwhelming, like stepping into a story I wasn’t sure I belonged in. The concept of a Mary Go Round was foreign to me—something I had only glimpsed once at a theme park but had never truly experienced. The uncertainty made me hesitate. Was this challenge meant for me? Would I be able to contribute something meaningful? A part of me considered sitting it out, letting doubt decide for me.

But creativity is born in moments of curiosity, so I chose to step forward instead of holding back. I allowed myself to explore, to toy with ideas, and to see where my imagination would take me. As I did, something unexpected happened—my hesitation began to fade, replaced by a growing sense of excitement. The challenge became more than just an opportunity to test my creative limits; it became a journey of self-discovery.

Somewhere along the way, as I sketched and dreamed, a realization took shape. This wasn’t just about one event or one theme—it was about something bigger. It was about what truly made me come alive. And in that moment of clarity, I knew. My heart was set on a path I had never fully acknowledged before: I wanted to become a children’s book illustrator.

What once seemed like a distant dream now feels like a tangible future. That single week of exploration changed everything, turning uncertainty into confidence and possibility into purpose. Today, I am not just dreaming of this path—I am walking it, step by step, bringing stories to life with every stroke of my brush.
